IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome to Uplift Family Services! Child and Family Institute's (CFI) programs were acquired by Uplift Family Services as of April 1, 2017. Uplift Family Services will seamlessly continue to serve all of the families formerly served at CFI. There are no changes to the program staff, the service locations, or the services provided. Sacramento County has been intimately involved with this transition and approved this change.

Uplift Family Services is one of the largest, most comprehensive mental health treatment programs in California. Our mission is to do whatever it takes to strengthen and advocate for children, families, adults, and communities to realize their hopes for behavioral health and well-being. We take a state-of-the-art approach to children and youth with complex mental health challenges: we combine research-based services (including evidence-based therapies and psychiatric services) with a family-centered effort to identify and address the complex needs of the family. Uplift Family Services is currently serving over 400 other families in Sacramento.

Here are some brief answers to what we anticipate are your immediate questions:

Do children, youth, and families need to do anything because of this change? No. You can continue on without any change or interruption.

Why is this happening? Dennis O'Reilly, CFI's Executive Director, is retiring. After reviewing all the changes occurring in the mental health field, CFI's Board of Directors concluded that, instead of recruiting a new Executive Director, it was in the best interest of the children and families served, and the CFI staff, to join with Uplift Family Services, an organization strategically and tactically prepared for the future. CFI has been a well-regarded and valued provider in the community.

Will the offices move? No. We will continue to provide services in North and South Sacramento. Of course, you are also welcome to contact us with additional questions or clarification about this change at 916.921.0828.

We are very excited about this opportunity to serve you! We believe the most effective form of care for children, youth and their families is based in the community, using strengths and needs to define and individualize service. We believe children and families should have the greatest possible access to services, as well as maximum voice and choice in planning, carrying out and evaluating those services.
